Salve lector!
First and foremost, I would like to greet you, my dearest Visitor! It is very
touching that you are spending a few minutes (seconds) to read my humble homepage, in our world constantly
lacking time. If your visitation happened just by accident, I would no way hold you up. But if your visit
is not merely the result of an accident, or despite the accident, you decide to spend some time reading my homepage, I am
already grateful. I'd like to express my gratitude by providing content that is worth of time, and that may serve for the
betterment - to the extent of my humble skills and limited possibilities - of my nation and my mother tongue, as well as
for the scientific community, the Visitor and me. Considering, however, that "my nation" and "my mother tongue" means
Hungarian, some parts of my website - especially content on the Translations page - may not be available in languages other
than Hungarian.
And now, a few words about myself: my official name is Vajner Balázs (or, Balázs Vajner in western name order), but on the World Wide Web I am using the pseudonym Blasius Secundus.
- I have graduated at the
Pázmány Péter Catholic University,
Faculty of Humanities (Piliscsaba, Hungary), with a Univ. Degree in history and Latin language in 2008
- My master's thesis revolved around the treatise known as De rebus bellicis
- The original Latin text of De rebus bellicis can be read on my website
- I was a PhD student from 2008 to 2011 at the same University
- I am currently working on my PhD-thesis
- Meanwhile, I am working as a freelance translator and programmer at Freelancer, under the nickname Blasius Secundus
